In 1931, an earthquake partly destroyed Oaxaca, in Mexico. By chance, Eisenstein was in the country and promptly flew to Oaxaca to document the situation. This silent documentary film is the result of his trip.
It is impressive to see Mexicans almost 85 years ago: so poor and so thin, before the arrival of popular American culture and clothes.
